Symphonic Band

 

The Fresno State Symphonic Band is our second on-campus wind ensemble and is under the direction of Mr. Steve McKeithen, Associate Director of Bands. Although the Wind Orchestra is known as our premier on-campus performing ensemble, the Symphonic Band makes a name for itself and reads the same difficulty level of music as the Wind Orchestra. The purpose of this ensemble is to maintain a college-level atmosphere and professionalism but on a less intense performance schedule than the Wind Orchestra. 

 

Symphonic Band is offered as a one-unit course in both the fall and spring semesters, and like the Wind Orchestra, its membership is determined by auditions held the first week of each semester.
